قَالَا رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَا نَخَافُ أَن يَفْرُطَ عَلَيْنَآ أَوْ أَن يَطْغَىٰ

قال موسى وهارون: ربنا إننا نخاف أن يعاجلنا بالعقوبة، أو أن يتمرد على الحق فلا يقبله.

«قالا ربنا إننا نخاف أن يفرط علينا» أي يعجل بالعقوبة «أو أن يطغى» علينا أي يتكبر.
